The concept under the spotlight
The Café 2 Go team is focused on partnering with landlords, venues and event organisers looking for a turnkey coffee deli solution and a win-win relationship. Café 2 Go has three business models to choose from — (1) Coffee Trailers for outdoor events, that also includes a pop-up for indoor events; (2) Corporate Coffee Deli’s for business parks, retail sites and office buildings; (3) a Drive-thru Coffee Deli option housed in a customised shipping container.

Combining the best of responsible sourcing and dedicated local roasting to create a consistent, satisfying coffee experience, Café 2 Go works closely with various coffee roasteries and have created their own house-blend. The Café 2 Go menu was designed based around feedback from their customers about what they like and how they like it. In the spirit of promoting and supporting local businesses, food options are sourced from local suppliers. With prior permission from the franchisor, franchisees are allowed to customise their menu to cater to local market preferences.

The ideal franchisee team has an experienced and dynamic barista and an outgoing, experienced sales person. In addition to consistently making exceptional coffee, the barista should have ‘star power’ and great people skills. As an on-site manager responsible for opening and closing the business they should also be trustworthy. The salesperson’s responsibilities include customer care and marketing the business in the franchisee’s catchment area. Café 2 Go Drive-Thru’s and Café’s also employ kitchen staff.
Franchisor support
The Café 2 Go management team has more than 200 years combined experience in the franchise, coffee, food and retail industries in South Africa. As a Café 2 Go franchisee you will benefit from the franchisor’s assistance with regards to training, launch support, branding building, marketing material, supplier management and event sourcing. Once the business is up and running franchisees receives ongoing field support, including business referrals, staff recruitment assistance, regular audits, menu innovation and business coaching.

All Café 2 Go franchisees attend an Introduction to Barista training, including equipment maintenance. Franchisees are also trained on all the aspects of local marketing and building a loyal customer base. 

In order to ensure that quality standards are maintained, all coffee and consumables must be ordered from the designated suppliers, while food orders are channelled through franchisor-approved third parties. The franchisor uses their overall purchasing power to negotiate best quality, prices and terms from their suppliers.
Do you fit the profile?
Applicants will benefit from experience in the food and hospitality industry. They should be marketing and people-oriented and be willing to work over weekends as well as flexible hours during the week. Applicants interested in the Trailer option will require a reliable towing vehicle and all franchisees must have access to sufficient working capital to see them through the get-up-and-go launch phase.
